"Dad"
Red Bank sent a group here to the Dominican Republic this summer and I believe had a terrific trip. The joy and enthusiasm that they carried with them was unbelievable. But one very tough thing happened. My dad and sister came with the group and Dad got very sick. He was sick almost the entire week. One night I was woken up by Tommy Reese because Dad was throwing up so much that he was getting extremely dehydrated. At three o'clock in the morning Lisa, Tommy, Dad and I went to the hospital where he recieved an IV and went to myt apartment in Rio San Juan. He slept a little but never really got to feeling any better. We started looking for solutions. Really, we did not know what to do and just wanted him to be able to fly home the next day with the group. As Lisa and I were in town looking for some medicine and things to help him, we ran into Nobil, Freddy's son. (Freddy is a good friend in town and an owner of a local restaurant.) Nobil immediately jumps to help us and goes and gets advice from his father and then takes us to a local clinic. While at the clinic dad recieved two more IVs, some medicine for the nausea, some medicine for the stomach acid, and a medicine to kill a possible parasite. Time was running short and I was convinced that he would not be able to get on that plane. He eventually left the clinic and came back to the apartment and slept. Dad and I recieved help and encouragement from so many people while all this was going on. Here stands the list, with appologies for my forgetfulness:

"Dear God, what a huge blessing to have so many people praying for you when you are sick and down. Red Bank's group was a huge blessing to me and to everyone here. I am gratefrul that Dad got to come, even though he was sick. Thank you for all the people who had us in their prayers. Thank you that Dad arrived home and I ask that you continue to be with him as he gets better. I love you Everyday!"

"Padre"
Un grupo de Red Bank vino a la República Dominicana este verano y yo creo que tuvieron un viaje estupendo. El gozo e entusiasmo que llevaban con ellos era incredible. Pero un evento duro pasó. Mi hermana y mi padre vineron con el grupo y mi papá se enfermó. Estaba enfermo casi toda la semana. Un noche fui despertado por Tommy Reese porque mi padre había vomitado muchas veces y se había deshidratado. A las tres en la mañana Lisa, Tommy, Papá y yo fuimos al hospital donde él recibió un suero y despues fuimos al mi apartamento en Rio San Juan. Pap
á durmió un chin pero nunca se sintió mejor. Empezamos buscar soluciones. En realidad no sabíamos lo que hacer y sólo queríamos que pudiera volar y regresar a los EE.UU. el día siguiente con el grupo. Cuando Lisa y yo estábamos en el pueblo buscando medicina y cosa que le ayudarían, tropezamos con Nobil, el hijo de Freddy. (Freddy es un gran amigo y el dueño de un restaurante en Rio San Juan.) Inmediatamente Nobil quería ayudarnos y fue a buscar consejo de Freddy. Regresó y nos llevó a un clínico. Mientras que estábamos en el clínico, padre recibió dos sueros más, un medicina para la nausea, medicina para el acido del estómago, y un medicación para un parásito. No había mucho tiempo y yo estaba convencido que no habría podido abordar el avión. Eventualmente salió del clínico y regresó al apartamento y durmió. Padre y yo recibimos mucha ayuda y ánimo de muchas personas mientras que pasaba todo. Aquí el la lista, con mis disculpas por mi falta de memoria:

"Dios, que gran bendición tener muchas personas que oran por nosotros cuandos estemos enfermos. El grupo de Red Bank era un gran ánimo a mi y todos que están aquí. Estoy agredecido que mi padre pudiera venir aunque se enfermara. Gracias por todas las personas que estaban orando por nosotros espcialmento por mi padre. Te doy gracias que padre regresara a la casa y pido que sigas estar con él mientras que esté recuperando. Te amo todos los días."
