día de acción de gracias.

"Día de Acción de Gracias"
It is weird not being in the United States for Thanksgiving. It is also weird when Thanksgiving Day is very hot. It is not that extremely hot here, but much hotter than I am used to for last November. I have titled this entry “Día de Acción de Gracias” because I like the name of this holiday better in Spanish than English. In Spanish the name implies more than saying what you are thankful for, but acting on those things. ”God, I am thankful for so much. You have given me so much to be thankful for. I am thankful for my family in the United States, even though I can not be with them right now. I am thankful for my family here in the Dominican Republic. I am thankful for friends. For Brittney and Greg, who I miss very much, and want the best for them. For all my friends from Harding, who I miss, and want them to know I think about them a lot. For my friends from Chattanooga, who are not all in Chattanooga right now, but I miss them too. For the children here in this country, whom I love very much. For the MannaDR team, who has made moving to a different country much easier. For my best of friends here in the Dominican Republic, I love them very much and am thankful to have such great friends here. God, for the chance to live and travel outside of my country, something that many people of this world do not have the chance to do. God, for the chance to live in you. I am thankful for people like Brian Wallace, who constantly are a reminder of how great you are, and how much we need you in everything that we do. I love you every day.”
